Extra requirements	You would need to provide a proof of your English proficiency: an equivalent to a CEFR level B2 at the moment of application and C1 at the moment of departure. Students from the English taught LLB programme are exempt from this requirement for the internal application process at the UG. Example of the English proficiency required scores by the host university: IELTS overall score of 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each sub-skill TOEFL 88 with minimum scores of Reading 21, Writing 21, Listening 20, Speaking 22 * for UG students going for a one-semester exchange a Statement of Language Proficiency from the home university suffices (if no Student visa is required) More on the accepted English test results on: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/apply/entry-requirements/international-entry-requirements (group B requirements) IMPORTANT CHANGE IN VISA REGULATIONS FROM 2025/2026: The UK Government is introducing an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for travellers entering the UK for up to six months. This includes, but is not limited to, EU, EEA, US, Canadian, Australian and Japanese nationals. If you are going to enter the UK after 8 January 2025, you will need to apply for an ETA! Financial support / Grants	More information on study and placement grants for law students can be found on the website www.rug.nl/law/lep. A Marco Polo grant covers part of the travel and accommodation expenses involved in studying abroad. At the moment the Marco Polo grant has been set at € 390 per calendar month. This may change per academic year. Your application for an exchange period at one of the Faculty's partner universities also counts as your application for a grant. When you receive notification of a place for study abroad, you will also learn more about the Marco Polo grant.
