About the University	The study of Law at the University of Barcelona can be traced back to the very foundation of the University. The Faculty of Law and Canon Law came into existence in 1450 with the foundation of the Estudi General de Barcelona, the predecessor of our present-day University. Today, the Faculty offers degrees not only in Law, but also in Political and Administrative Sciences, Industrial Relations, Public Management and Administration, and Criminology for undergraduates, postgraduate and doctoral students. And from the academic year 2009-2010, the degrees will be fully adapted to the European Higher Education Area. The Faculty of Law took up its current residence on the Pedralbes Campus in 1958, now over fifty years ago.

Extra requirements	You would need to provide a proof of your Spanish proficiency: an equivalent to a CEFR level B2 at the moment of application and C1 at the moment of departure.
Important information	Catalan is the institutional language of the University of Barcelona, and is therefore used in all the University's institutional and administrative affairs. Teaching is conducted in both Catalan and Spanish, which are Catalonia's official languages. The Law Faculty offers a limited range of courses taught in English. The course offer may vary from year to year. Even if law students intend to take only law courses offered in English, they will still have to meet the language requirements stated above.

Financial support / Grants	More information on study and placement grants for law students can be found at the website www.rug.nl/law/lep. An Erasmus+ grant covers part of the travel and accommodation expenses involved in studying abroad. At the moment the Erasmus+ grant has been set at € 330 - € 390 per calendar month, depending on the country of your host university. This may change per academic year. Your application for an exchange period at one of the Faculty's partner universities also counts as your application for a grant. When you receive notification of a place for study abroad, you will also learn whether or not you have been awarded a Erasmus grant and receive more information on the Erasmus grant
