Important information |
In Germany there is no possibility to obtain only a Bachelor degree in law. The Law studies in Germany last 5 years and finish with passing a so called "First State Exam", an equivalent to a Master degree. Therefore, the courses available to the exchange students are an equivalent of both Bachelor and Master level.
Academic calendar The academic year begins in October and is divided into two semesters. Lectures run from mid-October to mid-February and again from mid-April till mid-July. Exams take place during or at the end of the lectures; however, other dates may be arranged with the lecturer. Students are expected to use the lecture-free period for preparation, independent study, research and the writing of papers. The Exchange students might be allowed to follow the courses belonging to the LL.M. Digitalization & Law. Please go the the course catalogue for more information. |

More information on study and placement grants for law students can be found on the website www.rug.nl/law/lep.
An Erasmus+ grant covers part of the travel and accommodation expenses involved in studying abroad. At the moment the Erasmus+ grant has been set at € 330 - € 390 per calendar month, depending on the country of your host university. This may change per academic year. Your application for an exchange period at one of the Faculty's partner universities also counts as your application for a grant. When you receive notification of a place for study abroad, you will also learn more about the Erasmus grant. |
