The University of Calgary is a young and vibrant campus community geared toward providing you with a memorable university experience. Although the University of Calgary is a relatively young institution, it ranks among one of the Top Ten research universities in Canada today. In 2012, the QS World University Ranking indentified the University of Calgary as the #1 university in Canada under the age of 50 and one of the top 20 young universities internationally. The institution was founded in 1945 when the Calgary Normal School became a branch of the University of Alberta's education faculty. Established on its current 213-hectare site in northwest Calgary in 1960, the University gained full autonomy as a degree-granting institution six years later.

Extra requirements	Average mark of 7.0 (GPA). To study at the University of Calgary, you will need a TOEFL score of at least 100 with a reading, listening and writing component of min. 75 or an IELTS score of at least a 7.0. Only valid TOEFL or IELTS tests can be accepted. TOEFL and IELTS tests are valid for 2 years only. Special Law Exchange Student Requirements: To be eligible for a UCalgary Law Exchange, you must: - have completed minimum 3 semesters (15 Law courses) at your home university - provide a written Statement of Interest and 2 academic references to support your exchange application (submit these by email to iexch@ucalgary.ca by the application deadline) - take only Law courses during your exchange (preferably level 500 courses), the Faculty of Law does not allow students to register in courses at the 400 level, the 600 level courses are allowed if you meet the pre-requisite
Important information	These places are available only for advanced law students, because you can only attend courses at a Master level. Advanced in this case means students who are in their Master programme here in Groningen, or exceptional 3rd year Bachelor students. Attention: This university has mandatory fees of around $ 200,- per semester for unlimited Campus and Transport passes

Financial support / Grants	More information on study and placement grants for law students is available at the website rug.nl/law/lep. For studying in countries outside Europe students can apply for a grant from the Marco Polo Fund, which comprises of both faculty and university resources. Marco Polo grants do not cover travel and residential expenses completely; they are merely a contribution towards the extra costs involved in studying abroad. In 2017-2018 the Marco Polo grant has been set at € 210 - € 330 per calendar month, depending on the country of your host university. This may change per academic year. Your application for an exchange period at one of the Faculty's partner universities also counts as your application for a grant. When you receive notification of a place for study abroad, you will also learn more about the Marco Polo grant.
