The Law School has been a part of the University's portfolio almost since its foundation, with Law and Language combined programmes dating from the 1960s. Over recent years legal education at Surrey has undergone rapid expansion with undergraduate programmes in Law with International Studies and single honours Law now also being offered, as well as a range of postgraduate programmes and research opportunities.

Important information From 2011/12 all modules will run for one semester and carry 15 Surrey credits / 7.5 ECTS each. Some require pre-requisites, so please check carefully and discuss your choices with the Academic Coordinator at your home university. There are limited possibilities to study in the second semester.

Accommodation in University residences is usually only available for students studying for a full year, or enrolling in the second semester only. Students enrolling in the first semester only will not usually be eligible for on-campus accommodation. However, Accommodation Services are happy to receive applications and will do their utmost to find accommodation for inbound exchange students. If on-campus accommodation is not available, students will be given assistance in finding an off-campus alternative.

An Erasmus+ grant covers part of the travel and accommodation expenses involved in studying abroad. At the moment the Erasmus+ grant has been set at €170,-- to €270,-- per calendar month, depending on the country of your host university. This may change per academic year.

Your application for an exchange period at one of the Faculty’s partner universities also counts as your application for a grant. When you receive notification of a place for study abroad, you will also learn whether or not you have been awarded a Erasmus grant and receive more information on the Erasmus grant.
